In honour of Mental Health Awareness week 2020, where the theme is kindness, I wrote a little poem. Being kind to others improves our own mental health. Win win!

There’s something so infectious

That’s going round my street

On my daily walk

Infecting everyone I meet

I try to keep my distance

2 metres as we’re told

But this sort of infection

Is sneaky and so bold

This infection is called kindness

And everyone like me

Can spread a little kindness

To everyone you see

A little nod, a smile, a wave

Simply saying hello

Can make a real big difference

To how my day will go

So spread a little kindness

It’s the least that we can do

To make the world seem brighter

On those days that seem quite blue
